Traditional lime mortars used in pointing solid wall masonry buildings help to conserve and protect. Lime mortars are more permeable and flexible than modern cement based mortars. Cement based mortars can often contribute to trapping moisture and accelerating stone decay. The lime pointing is finished flush with masonry and with an open texture.
